Our garden

OK...this is one big garden. We have decided to make a garden big enough for our needs plus some to sell this year. We have a bunch of tomatos, peppers, onions and potatoes planted with the hopes that all will grow in abundance. Ray spent the last few days fencing it all in so all those nosy hens will stay out! We have a good amount of work ahead of us in maintaining this big space but between the 2 of us I don't think that will be a problem. We could always get a hand from our little future farmgirls and get the big kids up here with the promise of fresh veggies in payment for their help.

In other farm news our fierce little mama is still protecting her brood, but she somehow keeps losing a few. She is down to 4 and we have yet to figure out what is happening to these little ones. We are concerned as we were going to see if she will play mama to the broiler hens I have on order but not if she keeps losing these. I guess we will have to see when those peeps arrive.

I hope everyone is enjoying spring and looking forward to those long, lazy days of summer.
