Happy 4th plus random stuff

Latest news from the farm, we are in the very beginning of the big time harvest. We have raspberries now, plus the cool weather stuff like lettuce and peas are beginning to dwindle down while the tomato and corn are thriving. The beans will be ready next week and I planted a serious amount of them so I will be set with dry beans for the winter and have plenty of fresh beans for the summer into fall. This garden is huge, but we are already finding it a bit cramped so we will be expanding again and yes, we have completely lost our minds.
We made it to the Mount Vernon fireworks on the 3rd so it is not all work around here. I grabbed Justin and Elizabeth for the 4th. We headed to Maw's for a picnic and swimming. I refrained from the water sport since it was not sunny and 85 (my personal preference for getting wet outdoors) but the kids got in for a bit. Elizabeth played with her Uncle Joel, who she had dubbed Uncle JoJo, and had a great time.
Here are a few recent pics for your amusement and bemusement:

Enjoy the summer while it lasts and remember, local food is good food so visit your local farmers market and taste the fruits of the season.
