city girl/country girl

This is Elizabeth (grandchild #3) She is 7 years old and she lives in the city, Columbus to be exact. She is into Pokimon, video games, artsy/craftsy projects and ice cream. She is a city girl 95% of the time. The other 5% she is my little farm girl in training, or to put it in context of the title of this post, a country girl!
She came for a visit this past weekend. We have her come to stay on a semi-regular basis and while she is here I get her involved in all sorts of activities to continue her progress towards becoming a true country girl at heart, if not in actual location.

Some activities for the weekend:

We started the day with a country girl breakfast of cheesy scrambled eggs, toast, baked fruit with yogurt and milk

We then headed out to feed the chickens

and collect the eggs (yes, we are able to gather a few a day)

then we headed inside to start the bread making

We also found time for some drawing, played a few games and found time to relax a bit. We love having the grandkids come to visit to give them all a taste of the country life. Even if this little one chooses to live in the city when she grows up, I'd like to think the time she spends with us is time well spent in her journey to the adult Elizabeth she will become.
