Memorial Day...the start of summer fun... the 1st outdoor celebration of the year...with all summer to look forward to.We spent Memorial Day at Maw's house and all of the grandkids decided to come and bring their parents with them. This was a golden opportunity for pictures of course. The 1st is as good as we can get, with 5 kids under 5 getting them to sit next to each other without someone getting poked, prodded or pinched is an accomplishment, let alone getting everyone to look at Mimi at once (although I will have to say Xander did a great job and doesn't he look like a little angel!)
The kids both big and small(with the exception of the smallest, Xavier) were able to take a dip in the pool, with Kaylyn the most daring and Kiryn
the least. Elizabeth let her Daddy take her around in a floaty and Xander took a dip with his Daddy, not that he enjoyed it much but he took a dip none the less.
We kept Kaylyn and Kiryn overnight on Sunday and I promptly put them to work with flower planting. They both enjoyed playing in the dirt and even found some stray seeds to put in.
Ray and I are also on vacation this week, lots to do if the weather will cooperate. We are going to the Memorial tournament on Wednesday courtesy of my work and plan on planting the garden, doing some spring cleaning and hosting a celebration on Saturday in honor of Rachel's college graduation(again we are hoping for a bit of cooperation from Mother Nature on this one). I will post pictures of the festivities next week.
