Beer Fest!!

A few weekends ago we had Bev down for a visit. This also happened to coincide with the North Market Craft Beer Fest...serendipity was hard at work on this one. Bev is not a fan of craft beer but Ray and I are, so we talked her into joining us. I think she actually had a good time and found a beer that suited her tastes, more or less anyway. Rachel and Robert joined the fun and we had a great time! The North Market is located in Columbus' Short North neighborhood which has been going through a revival for the past few years. It's a market full of independent shops that sell anything from butchered meats to gourmet ice cream..and all points in between. So once a year the market hosts a Beer Fest to showcase the local craft breweries around central Ohio (we were surprised to find that the tiny town of Marengo, located about 10 miles from our house, actually had a craft brewery somewhere among the corn fields...who'da thunk it!) Anyway, Bev came down for a 4 day stay and we had a good visit. She headed home with home baked bread, homemade granola, a dozen eggs (of course) and a new pint glass courtesy of the Beer Fest. The North Market has a Wine Fest in the spring so I hope she can make it to that as well.

And now, some pics from the day

the price of admission included a pint glass, a food voucher and sample tokens to use throughout the day

We teased Bev that her boyfriend was standing behind her in this pic (the hairy chested yellow gent in the star studded Speedo)

3 generations

my drinking buddies for the day...couldn't ask for a better crew

we had fun sampling the beer and visiting

Hope you are all enjoying the start of fall. We have lovely weather so far and I'm taking advantage of that fact to do a bit of fall cleaning.

cheers
