We had a special celebration this weekend. On Saturday, Elizabeth turned 1 year old! We had a cookout and all of the family were able to attend. Ray's parents came down from Toledo for a visit and we also had my parents, my sister Mary and her husband, children and grandchildren, Elizabeth's paternal great-grandma and of course the cousins. Here are a few pics of the birthday girl contemplating her cake, smiling for the camera (which she is an old pro at) and getting some present opening advise from cousin Kaylyn, who has 2 birthday's under her belt. Ray was in charge of grill duty and did us proud with brats, burgers, chicken and dogs. We also had fresh corn on the cob from the farmers market and an assortment of veggie dishes straight from our garden and of course birthday cake. Elizabeth received a bunch of nice toys and clothes and she was a very happy birthday girl! Ray and I are on vacation next week (Yipee!!) and I am going to take Elizabeth to get her 1 year pictures taken on Monday. She is such a ham that I know she will do well. We also plan to camp a night or two and get some projects done in the time off.
I hope everyone is surviving the sweltering heat of late summer. Get in all the summer fun you can now as fall is just around the corner!
love to all
